Going Green in the Office

Humans have a knack for overusing and abusing the planet’s natural resources. Don’t beat yourself up; it’s a natural instinct of ours. However, we can combat our sense of self-entitlement which leads to an increased carbon footprint. If we make the conscious decision to no longer be a wasteful people, we can implement simple sustainable techniques and practices into our daily lives.

Converting your office into an eco-friendly and energy-efficient space will increase productivity in your workspace while reducing your company’s carbon footprint. While it might seem difficult to make your office green, it doesn’t take much to make your office energy and resource efficient. The following tips and suggestions will help guide you to creating an environmentally-friendly office space.

Create a Recycling Program

The number of offices that don’t currently recycle is unfathomable. Your office uses more products that can be recycled than you are even aware of. If you don’t already have one, create a recycling program in your office. This will make it easy for you and your co-workers to recycle with relative ease. All you need are a few bins and to post recycling guidelines above each bin to help your co-workers make mindless decisions while making your office greener. Here are some labels to consider:

Plastics

Cans and Bottles

Paper products

Cardboard

Ink cartridges

Energy-Efficient Lighting

With artificial lighting accounting for over 40 percent of energy use in the office, it’s important to limit your office usage as much as possible. Purchasing Energy Star-rated light bulbs and fixtures is a great first step toward eco-friendly lighting. These bulbs use 20 percent less energy than traditional lighting options, saving you in the long run. When used with timers or motion sensors that automatically shut your lights off when they aren’t needed, you will significantly reduce your office’s greenhouse emissions.

When you’re the last to leave a room, turn the lights off behind you, even if you’re only stepping out of your office for a few minutes. If you’re not in your office, there’s no need for you to illuminate the unoccupied room.

Shutting Devices Down

Many people don’t think about this when they leave the office for the day, but your office computers and various electronics are huge energy-wasters when left plugged in overnight. Try to make a habit of turning all of your electronics off, along with the power strip they are plugged into, when it’s quitting time. I suggest creating a “to-do” list where you write down every electronic in your office that you will then power down and unplug at the end of the day. This will make it a nearly-effortless task to shut everything down. Even if you aren’t using these electronics, they are still drawing power from your electric sockets, causing you to burn energy (and money) when you leave things plugged in.

Go Digital

As basic and straightforward as it may seem, the greenest way to print is to not print at all. Many offices have transitioned to using nothing but recycled paper, but this still leaves behind a carbon footprint in your office. However, the more you do on your office computers, the less paper you will need, and subsequently, the smaller your office’s carbon footprint will be. There’s absolutely zero need to print out each and every document you receive. Keep files on your computer or take advantage of cloud computing instead of wasting immense amounts of paper in bulky file cabinets. If you don’t already use one, download a PDF converter to allow the members of your office to review documents on their computers without having to print a single page.

Where you get your energy from matters

The best way to transform your office into a green machine is to consider switching the type of energy your office receives. Certain options can be slightly more expensive, however, transitioning to wind or solar power is by far the best way to begin your green transformation. Numerous utility providers offer wind power as an energy option (generally at a slightly higher rate). Solar power will require a higher initial investment than switching to wind power, though the tax rebates you will receive for switching to solar will help you recoup your investment. Most companies that choose to install solar panels are able to make up the difference through the tax rebates and energy cost savings within five years.

Lance Trebesch is the CEO of TicketPrinting.com & Ticket River, which offers a variety of event products and ticketing services. After nineteen years of Silicon Valley experience, Lance found the key to happiness is helping customers worldwide beautify and monetize their events with brilliant print products and event services.

The car fax and what the heck is it? Simply put the car fax is a report of a car’s history and you can get one from the dealer or go to carfax.com. They offer several services: the lemon car check, the records check, the recall check and the problem car check just to name a few. Some items that might appear on a car fax report are accidents, repairs, odometer readings, maintenance, stolen vehicles, when the car was built, the first time it was registered, when it was registered to a new state or offered for sale. Remember though you will never know the name of the owner, or where any maintenance or accidents occurred. Any information about the car is supplied from dealers, police, fire, service garages. So the report will only be accurate with what is reported on it.

Always ask the dealer for the car fax, if they won’t provide you with one get your own even if you purchase the car from your cousin. But it is not a free report, you will have to pay anywhere from around $10 to $40 for it. And don’t forget to get your best friend, the neighborhood mechanic commonly known as my buddy down the street to inspect the car before purchasing it.

Don’t just depend on the car fax, they are only as good as the people that report the information on and don’t always blame the dealership either, they may not have been told about all the bad things wrong with the car such as an accident not reported to the car fax. Last but not least when you get your car worked on ask them to send the service records over to the car fax. Should you ever need to sell your car, having a car fax for it just might make the sale just a little bit easier to handle. So don’t forget and go to the car fax at carfax.com

Why not get an Alaska dealers license for wholesale and retail cars. Does the Alaska economy have you down in a rut and worried about making ends meet? You can be up and running within a short period of time.

To begin with you need to be bonded in the amount of $50,000 and it must remain in force at all times while doing business in the State of Alaska. Don’t forget about the application you need to fill out to have an Alaska dealers license in motor vehicles or to act as a buyer’s agent.

OOPS! Let’s not forget you probably need to get a computer, phone and fax, plus you have to have the cars to sell with the dealer’s license of course.

So why would you want to have an Alaska dealers license? Well! you will be able to go to auctions that only the Alaska dealers license will let you get in. But wait, it gets even better because you can go to a new car dealership and buy wholesale cars from them. If that doesn’t wet your appetite then consider this, there is no limit on how many cars you can sell with an Alaska dealers license. You will sure be stylin by driving in a dealer car with the dealer plates attached. Go to doa.alaska.gov/dmv/ for more information.

You will be considered a small business owner too! Just think about all of the tax write-offs you can have from gas receipts to auto repair receipts. Your family and friends will love you because you can buy wholesale cars and won’t have to worry about car dealers that don’t present a positive approach. And the best part is that you don’t have to take any exam to get a Alaska dealers license.

Go to MyAutoLicense.com and send us an email or if your fingers feel energetic you can put them to good use by punching in the numbers on the telephone. We can get you started with everything you need and process the paperwork for you too! Go ahead, what are you waiting for? Give us a call at 866-764-7046. You can even fill out the contact form at MyAutoLicense.com. It seems silly to go anywhere else when you can get everything you need right here, right now at MyAutoLicense.com.

Has our country’s economic recession proven difficult for you to make ends meet? Are you now finding yourself living paycheck-to-paycheck? Instead of planning for your future, do you find yourself struggling to make it through the month? If you said yes to any of these questions, you are facing the same difficulties most Americans today are struggling to overcome. You’re now competing with the majority of the country to find ways to come out ahead once the recession ends. However, there is hope! Here are some of the ways you can make ends meet in the recession!

Cut Your Costs

You’ve probably heard every economic guru and expert, all the way to your Great Aunt Sally, say how important it is to cut your costs. But if you’re trying to make ends meet in the recession, you have to waive the white flag and evaluate your current economic situation. Every purchase you make needs to be thoughtfully examined. Do you truly need to make this purchase? If not, then don’t! Put that money into your savings account, kid’s piggy bank, or even your mattress. Saving the money you would spend on unnecessary, superfluous items will not only help you avoid buying something and never using it, but will also allow you to save “just in case”. With today’s economy, it can be daunting as you try to make ends meet. However, you never know when something could go awry. You car could break down, a household appliance could malfunction, or your family could have to pay medical bills for an unexpected Emergency Room visit. Whatever your case may be, the first step to make ends meet is to eliminate any unnecessary costs. Whether you delay purchasing that new plasma screen TV, don’t take that vacation, or buy a used car as opposed to buying a new one, the need to cut your costs cannot be stressed enough.

Earning Additional Income

Whether you’re working full-time or are unemployed, most Americans are wishing they had additional income during these tough times. There are plenty of ways to earn additional income to help cover your costs. A common choice amongst new business professionals is to freelance while working their current jobs. What is freelancing? In short, freelancing is working for yourself. You can search online for freelancing opportunities in writing, proofreading, editing, data entry, and much more. Not all freelancing jobs are technical either. You can find freelance jobs for virtually every industry. There are many individuals and companies out there who need additional help to cover their workflow, but they may not have the funds to hire on additional employees. That is where the freelancer comes in. Traditionally, the freelancer is paid per project or assignment, and is paid a higher wage than a corporate employee would be paid. Why? Because the freelancer often times does not receive the benefits earned by the employee. To supplement that, companies will often pay more for a freelancer to complete a task, simply to finish the assignment in a timely manner.

Where We Come In

Here at MyAutoLicense.com, we strive to connect with people and teach them the ins-and-outs of the automotive industry. We handle every step of the licensing process, and can help you whether you’re just an inspection away from opening your dealership, or if you’ve yet to start with the applications to your local DMV. We would love to help provide an opportunity for you to make ends meet. Visit us today at MyAutoLicense and get started with your dealer license! Get your license, go to dealer-only auto auctions, and make ends meet within one week!

With all the flood damaged cars hitting the market, one needs to really look at and inspect flood damaged cars for sale. Here are a few pointers from MyAutoLicense.com when inspecting a flood damaged cars or determining if it is a flood damaged car.

1. Check to see where the car came from with the title. Did the car come from a flood region?

2. Put your nose to work! Does the car smell moldy? If it does, it could possibly be due to flood damage.

3. Put your fingers to work too! Touch everything to feel for moisture and be sure to look under the carpet to see if there are any signs of rust.

4. Rust and corrosion are a big give-away especially around door hings, trunk, nuts, bolts, and screws for a flood damaged car.

5. Notice any water stains on the upholstery? If the upholstery looks new on a car that is old you should be suspicious.

6. Put the pedal to the medal! Drive the car and listen for strange sounds when you start it up. Check for unusual smells after you try the air conditioner and heater. And don’t forget the tunes, if the radio has lots of unusual static you just might have a flood damaged car.

7. Is there water in the oil? If there is water in the oil, it will probably be a different color, more pale than usual. Water in the oil might feel sticky or tacky too.

8. Let there be lights! Check the headlights, taillights and even the exterior mirrors, they might have a foggy appearance.

9. Oh how dirty it can be! Is there any debris such as grass, dirt, sand or silt. Places to check would be the trunk, under the dashboard, in the wheel well, and around the wiring.

10. Inspect! Always take the car to a reliable inspector for a final opinion. They should be able to tell you if have flood damaged car problems or not. You can purchase flood salvaged cars and be a happy camper with it.

There are a lot of factors that go into one’s decision to take a new job. Termination, bosses you can’t stand, high stress levels, or perhaps you aren’t in the career you dreamed of. It’s easy to stay at a job, because even if you hate it, the job still pays the bills. Attempting to work a new job can be frightening, as the unknown is often referred to with disdain and worry. But if you’re at the point in your life where you can say “enough is enough,” perhaps it would best suit you to look for a new job.

One industry that most overlook in their attempt to start anew is the automotive industry. Most people think they cannot achieve success if they do not work for, or own, a large dealership that sells only new cars. But with our current economic crisis, how many people do you know that could afford to buy a brand new car today? If you think about it, more likely than not, you could count these people on one hand. With our country’s recession, many have found that they need to downsize. Their homes, lifestyles, and cars, are things that most people are looking to change so they can keep as much of their money in their pocket. If someone could buy a brand new vehicle for $20,000, or buy a used vehicle for less than $10,000, in today’s day and age, most will go for the less expensive option.

Whatever your reason for starting a new job may be, you probably don’t want to spend thousands of dollars to get into your new job. While being your own boss can be one of the greatest, and most liberating, feelings one can experience, there are usually associated costs that add up rather quickly. But what if you could start your new career today and not spend thousands to get started? What if you could get your auto dealer license, bid on and purchase vehicles at dealer-only auctions, and sell those vehicles to other dealerships and the general public? If you could make hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars for every vehicle you purchased, would you turn down the opportunity?

The typical process to obtain your dealer license includes applying with your local DMV, purchasing or leasing a car lot with an office for you to showcase your vehicles, and purchasing insurance and bonding, and then go through the DMV inspection process. This can take a substantial amount of time, and can cost thousands of dollars, as the insurance can be very costly. But have no fear; your new job awaits you! At MyAutoLicense.com, we strive to assist individuals to obtain their dealer license in a reasonable and efficient manner. Why wait months for the DMV when you can have your dealer license in hand this week? Want to go to the dealer auctions? Great! Let us help you get there! Visit us today at MyAutoLicense.com and see how you can get your dealer license today and start your new job!

You’ve seen them on the road before, the infamous dealer plate. You know, those license plates with “DEALER” plastered on them. But what do they mean, and why do so many people have them on their vehicles? Are they the privileged few that receive special privileges and treatment? Or perhaps the better question to ask, are they drug dealers?

Explaining the Dealer Plate

Well, to answer the last question, no, they are not a drug dealer. At least that is not what they are attempting to advertize. These unique license plates belong to those who either own or represent a car dealer and dealership. A dealer plate provides these car dealers with certain privileges (which we’ll discuss momentarily), that are not given to the general public.

The dealer plate provides the car dealer with a few privileges that most of us “commoners” are not awarded. First, the plate is interchangeable, meaning the car dealer can use the same plate on one car, get out of that vehicle, and drive off in another vehicle, using the one plate. Unlike traditional license plates issued by the DMV, a dealer plate is not connected to one specific vehicle.

Access to Dealer Auctions

Another benefit awarded to those who possess a dealer plate is the ability to attend dealer-only auto auctions. You may be familiar with police and public auto auctions, but there is another world of auto auctions that you may be unaware of: dealer auctions. With a dealer plate, the car dealer can attend these auctions (which are closed to the public) and can save hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars on vehicles. How are these dealers saving so much money at auction?

When you attend a dealer auction, you are surrounded by people whom all possess a dealer plate, and in turn, a dealer license. All who attend a dealer auction are there to buy vehicles to add to their inventory and sell to the general public. At a public or police auto auctions, people bid on vehicles that they intend to own, meaning they’re willing to invest more at the auction to purchase the vehicles they desire. At a dealer auction, everyone bidding on the auction’s vehicles has one desire: make money, and quickly. Most of these dealers set limits for themselves to ensure they make as much profit as possible when they “flip” the vehicle.

What are you waiting for?

Now that you know what a dealer plate is and what it can do for you, what are you waiting for? Visit MyAutoLicense.com today to get set up with your very own dealer license and dealer plate!

By now, you’ve probably heard about the amazing deals people receive when they attend dealer auctions, buying cars for hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars less than market value. Want in on the action? Well, it’s not that easy. If it was, everyone would do it. But let us help explain the process and get you set up to attend dealer auctions.

There are various types of car auctions, including government, police, public, and dealer auctions. Of these, dealer auctions are where the buyer can find the best deals on vehicles. However, to attend a dealer auction, you must be either have your own dealer license or be a representative of a dealership with authorization to attend the dealer auction. Once you are listed as a dealer with your own dealer license or as a dealer representative, you’ll be able to view all of the vehicles you would at a regular auto auction, and bid on them on behalf of your dealership.

The most exciting thing about these dealer auctions is that the prices are much lower than what you’d pay for a similar vehicle at a public auction. But, please take note, dealer auctions tend to have more salvage title cars than other public auctions. However, many used car dealers find salvage vehicles to be profitable, as most dealers and dealer representatives won’t bid on salvage title vehicles.

Now that you’re excited to attend a dealer auction, what’s next? Well, you have two options. You can either go through your DMV, create your own dealership and obtain a dealer license for your state, or you can become a representative of a dealership, or in other words, an employee.

Visit www.MyAutoLicense.com and let us help you gain access to dealer auctions!
