It is a city known for its celebration of dance, where students from all high schools in the city to participate in an after-prom party. This was presented to the radio program This American Life Episode # 186 “Prom,” which was released June 8, 2001, Racine prom tradition was also the 2006 Best Documentary about the world of dance. Racine was recently named one of “10 great places to fly the patriotic colors” of the U.S. Today. Racine was awarded as “water of the city’s tastiest in America 2011” by the US Conference of Mayors, June 20, 2011.
